Standing Orders

The business of Longhorsley Parish Council is transacted in accordance with the Standing Orders which were adopted by the Council on 3rd June 2003

Elections

Elections are held every four years and normally take place on the first Thursday in May. If, following an election, there are insufficient members the council may, if a quorum exists, fill the vacancies by co-opting people to serve as members of the council. A quorum is three members or a third of the council's membership, whichever is the greater.

Complaints

Longhorsley Parish Council has adopted the National Association of Local Councils (NALC) Code of Practice for Local Councils in handling complaints. The Council deals with every duly made complaint according to the Code as a way of ensuring that complainants can feel satisfied that at the least their grievance has been properly and fully considered.
