Meeting dates

An annual meeting must be held every year, within 18 days of election in an election year and on any day in May in any other year.

In addition to the annual meeting a Parish Council must hold at least three other meetings each year.

Extraordinary meetings may additionally be called at any time by the Chairman and any two members can request the Chairman (in writing) to call one.

Longhorsley Parish Council normally meets monthly.

The next meeting of the Parish Council will be on Wednesday 10th March at 7:00 p.m. in St. Helen's Church.

Conduct of Meetings

Longhorsley Parish Council aims to make its meetings:

efficient and business like
fair to all participants
effective in relation to the issues being tackled
not so formal as to be pompous or stuffy
good humoured

The Chairman if present shall preside. If not, the vice-chairman. If both are absent those present shall elect a member to preside. A quorum is three members or a third of the council's membership, whichever is the greater.

Some Parish Councils include political party groupings but Longhorsley does not.
