The Parish Council has begun the work to put together a Neighbourhood Plan.
This is a long process (up to 2 years) and this page of our website will be used to engage with the community and to report progress.
The first of many community engagement events was held on Saturday 18th October 2014 in the village hall.
With over 50 parishioners “dropping in” we were able to capture many thoughts, aspirations and comments about the village and what we should consider in the future. This document summarises the feedback from the event.
If you could not make it to the event the material and some of the information that was displayed is listed below, including contact details for each member of the steering group. In addition there is a feedback form which can be printed off and returned to any member of the steering committee or sent electronically to the secretary. So if you have any comments to make please feel free to contact us. Also we are looking to seek the help of as many parishioners as possible to support the process as it progresses. This may take the form of proof reading a document to being involved in a discussion group about a particular topic. Please register your interest with one of the committee.
The posters below were used as prompts to generate thought and discussion
The children and staff of St. Helen’s First School in Longhorsley have also been getting involved and putting forward their thoughts on what they would like to see in the future in the village. Their idea have been put together on a display as shown below and can also be viewed in the village hall.
In addition the children have recorded their thoughts and comments.
Clubs, groups and societies that regularly use the village hall were also asked to give their thoughts and aspirations for the village, again are recorded here.
The Neighbourhood Planning Committee meets on a monthly basis. The next meeting is on Thursday 26th March. Minutes of all meeting can be found below.
